In most of states, Kali Puja 2022 is performed at midnight in West Bengal, Orissa and Assam. In West Bengal, Lakshmi Puja is performed 6 days after Dussehra while Kali Puja is performed on Diwali. In the evening, Goddess Kali is worshiped using Tantric rites and Mantras. She is offered red hibiscus flowers, sweets, lentils, rice, fish, meat, and even animal blood in a skull.
Puja in Sanskrit meant to adore or worship and the puja performed every day is called as Nitya puja or Daily Puja. The objects on the altar help to make contact with the goddess.
